“Small businesses are the foundation of our economy, yet more than 30 million of them face a massive tax increase that would impact their ability to create jobs and give back to their communities,” said NFIB President Brad Close“The sudden elimination of tax savings will decimate America’s small businesses, which have used the 20% small business tax credit to overcome significant hurdles such as inflation, staff shortages and supply chain disruptions. The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% small business tax credit permanent and avoid a massive tax increase for nine out of 10 small businesses. Congress must now pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to level the playing field and keep small businesses competitive.”

“We are grateful for Senator Amy Klobuchar’s support in our efforts to Main Street Tax Certainty Act“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and the 20% small business tax credit has been instrumental in helping them overcome economic challenges,” said NFIB Country Director John Reynolds“Making this deduction permanent is essential to avoid a massive tax increase for the majority of small businesses. We call on Congress to act now to level the playing field and support small businesses in Minnesota and across the country.”

The 20% small business deduction was introduced as part of the 2017 tax law to level the playing field between small businesses and large corporations. It has helped small business owners overcome the economic challenges of recent years – but it expires at the end of 2025. Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% small business tax credit permanent and avoid a massive tax increase on the majority of America’s small businesses. All North Dakota congressmen support the Main Street Tax Certainty Act.
