New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos second half thread

The first half of the New York Jets’ Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos is set and the Jets lead the Broncos by six points at 6-0.

The game started with the Jets’ offense. The catastrophe came immediately. Aaron Rodgers was sacked on the first play from scrimmage. On the third play, Garrett Wilson fumbled and the Broncos recovered at the Jets’ 30-yard line. Not so good.

Luckily for the Jets, the defense was up to the challenge, pushing the Broncos back and out of field goal range on a three-and-out possession.

The Jets were pinned at their own 1-yard line by the Broncos’ punt. A quick three and out led to the Jets punting in the back of their own end zone, resulting in the Broncos having excellent field position at their own 48 to begin their second drive of the game. This was not how the Jets envisioned starting this game on offense.

The Jets’ defense bailed out the offense again, forcing the Broncos’ offense into another three-pointer and out of bounds. Early on, the defense dominated the offense of both teams.

The game continued without either offense recording a first down until the 2:07 mark of the first quarter. At this point the Broncos stumbled, the Jets recovered at the Broncos 34 yard line and were immediately within scoring range.

The Jets got their first first down of the game on a pass interference penalty in the end zone, giving them the ball at the one-yard line as the first quarter came to an end.

The Jets were unable to break through against a strong Broncos defense and had to settle for a short field goal and a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter.

If you are a fan of defensive football, this game is for you. As the first half progressed, neither team was able to get anything going on offense until the Jets closed the half with a drive for a field goal.

The Jets head into the locker room with a 6-0 lead in an ugly game.
