New York Jets star Garrett Wilson tells Giants fan to shut up after Malik Nabers criticism

New York Jets receiver Garrett Wilson shot down a critic of one of his local rivals.

That player, Giants rookie receiver Malik Nabers, suffered an impressive but ultimately disappointing loss to the rival Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. The former LSU star played great, catching a dozen passes for 115 yards, but was diagnosed with a concussion at the end of the night.

That head injury occurred in the closing stages of the fourth quarter when Nabers dove down the sideline to field a pass from Daniel Jones. Although he initially appeared to make a brilliant catch, replays showed Nabers failed to secure the ball, resulting in a turnover on downs.

Additionally, Nabers can be seen landing on his head before struggling to get up and being helped to the locker room. He has since been diagnosed with the first concussion of his NFL career.

But the fan, @Giants366, wasn’t done yet.

“Even with the regressions, he’s still a better WR than you…,” the person wrote to Wilson, the 2022 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Wilson was probably satisfied that he had made his point and neglected to respond.

As for Nabers’ health, not much is clear.

“Yeah, we’ll just take it day by day here and see where he’s at,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Friday when asked what the offense would do if Nabers wasn’t ready for the Week 5 game in Seattle .

The good news, according to Daboll, is that quarterback Daniel Jones appeared to play better in Thursday’s loss, which dropped New York to 1-3.

“He played well,” Daboll said of Jones. “He sees the field.” He got the ball where he needed it. Today we again had a few opportunities to continue the journey. I am proud of his achievement.’

Impressively, Wan’Dale Robinson has emerged as Nabers’ secondary option after posting a career-best performance with 11 catches for 71 yards on Thursday in New Jersey.
