New York Giants select QB Miller Moss in far too early 2025 Mock Draft

The 2025 NFL mock drafts are coming, much too early of course, but it is never too early to prepare for the future.

We saw New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen out and about watching college games in August. The cycle never ends. Schoen also hinted to Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles that he was a bit jealous that Poles wasn’t looking for a quarterback.

Translation: Schoen is looking for a quarterback – now and next April.

After Daniel Jones stumbled again in the Giants’ opening loss to Minnesota last Sunday, any mock draft in which the Giants don’t either select a quarterback or try to acquire one is worthless.

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports recently released his latest 2025 NFL Draft predictions, and it features five quarterbacks selected in Round 1.

Trapasso has the Giants selecting third in this draft and yes, he’s letting them take a quarterback. Quinn Ewers? Carson Beck? Shadeur Sanders?

No, no and no. In fact, none of them even made the top five.

Trapasso expects the Giants to select Miller Moss from USC with the No. 3 pick.

Moss will likely end up with another franchise (see: clearly moving in that direction) that needs a quarterback step-up. He has the wherewithal to succeed in the NFL.

Giant fans will go crazy if that happens. They know as well as anyone what happens when you misjudge the quarterback. Schoen, passing up the three most popular quarterback options, could potentially break X next April.

Don’t judge so quickly. Moss is an up-and-comer.

Moss (6-foot-2, 200 pounds) is the type of traditional pocket passer the Giants like. He’s been behind Caleb Williams for the past three seasons but shined in his only opportunity when Williams sat out the Holiday Bowl to prepare for the draft.

Moss threw six touchdowns in the game and was named offensive MVP.

What Giants fans need to do here is break down the negative stigma of the past surrounding USC quarterbacks and think more about the new USC, now coached by Lincoln Riley.

Riley has a solid track record when it comes to mentoring quarterbacks: Caleb Williams, Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield (all Heisman Trophy winners) and Jalen Hurts.

Maybe Moss is next. Who knows? He could jump out of the top three and the Giants could snap him up.
