New York couple charged their wedding guests $333 to attend the ceremony

A New York couple charged their wedding guests a $333 fee to attend the ceremony.

New York’s ABC 7 reports that the couple – Nova and Reemo Styles – spent $70,000 on their big day.

They also charged guests for admission to their wedding as if it were a ticketed event. The bride commented, “People go to a Beyoncé concert because they know they’re going to have an experience. Let’s pressure guests and sell tickets to a wedding.”

The groom was less convinced, telling the outlet he didn’t expect people to come if they were threatened with prosecution.

Reactions were mixed. Nova told ABC 7 that reactions ranged from “I don’t care” to “Who do you think you are? Jay-Z and Beyoncé?”

A $333 ticket gave guests a seat on a double-decker coach and access to the 12-hour event, which included stops at major landmarks throughout New York City, including Hudson Yards, One World Trade Center, the courthouse and a movie theater.

Reemo explained how the couple agreed on $333 as the wedding entrance fee to Fox 10 in Phoenix: “The number three, three, three represents change, growth and strength. That was something we chose consciously, also for my personal pleasure. It’s a number that’s not too easy, but not too difficult either.”

The couple also told the outlet that the proceeds did not go towards wedding expenses, but were donated to a charity to support couples struggling with infertility.

By charging friends and relatives admission fees, the couple said they were able to narrow the guest list down to those who really wanted to come.

“It opened our eyes to how people view us, their value to our relationship and so much more,” Nova told Fox 10.

Reemo added: “We thought you really have to dig deep and say, ‘You know what? Do I really want to go there?’ We really wanted people who really wanted to go there for us.”
