It might be the most perfect day for college football that one can have in Albuquerque.

Doors open 90 minutes prior to kickoff at 5 p.m. and all parking lots (which open at 7 a.m.) are accessible by right turn only. As a reminder, UNM has a clear bag policy for all events. That policy can be found here.

In the event of bad weather or thunderstorms, fans will be informed of the procedure through announcements in the stadium during the match. For the latest matchday updates, fans should follow @UNMLOBOS on X (formerly Twitter).

There are many events surrounding the game, which is UNM’s Homecoming and also our “We Are New Mexico” celebration game. It all starts in the Howl Zone with a live band. In addition to blow-ups for the kids, Bubba’s will be available along with various vendors. Fans must stop by the Cherry On Top balloon that will be tethered in the Howl Zone for fans to take photos. There will also be Low Riders on display in the Howl Zone for the pregame events.

The first 2,500 fans to enter the stadium will receive a coupon for a free Cherry-on-Top balloon, which may be one of the coolest giveaways UNM has ever produced. The complete balloon is brought to you by Pepsi and will surely be a conversation piece for years to come for anyone who gets one. The balloon is a great replica of UNM’s Cherry-on-Top balloon, the same balloon that will be tethered in the Howl Zone.

Fans who receive a voucher can pick up their bobbleheads at one of the distribution tents in the North End Zone.

One of the all-time greats, Robin Cole will be the seventh member to be inducted into the Lobo Football Ring of Honor, joining Mike Williams, Don Perkins, Bobby Santiago, Brian Urlacher, Terance Mathis and DonTrell Moore. Cole will be inducted at the end of the first quarter and will also address the crowd during one of the first-half media breaks. Fans will definitely want to be there to celebrate one of the greatest wearing the cherry red and silver (and in Robin’s case, the turquoise) in Robin Cole!

It’s our first night game, so fans will need to download the Lobo Sports app from the app store to use their phones for a dynamic light show during the halftime break at the end of the third quarter. This isn’t a “turn on your phone’s flashlight” thing, but rather a coordinated flashing light show with the music, stadium lights, and your Lobo Sports app. Fans will want the free app anyway, as it’s the best way to get stats and the latest Lobo news, but of course fans want to be part of the game experience at the end of the third quarter.

A New Mexico celebration isn’t complete without fireworks, and New Mexicans love a good fireworks display. The post-game fireworks display takes place just minutes after the final whistle.
