Don’t let summer pass without taking a trip back in time and experiencing the magic of a drive-in movie theater.

First, let’s take a look back at the history of the very first drive-in cinema.

The Camden Drive-In opened in Pennsauken, New Jersey in 1933.

The inventor was Richard Hollingshead, a huge film fan who wanted to help his mother, who could barely fit into the small cinema seats.

He came up with the idea of ​​watching movies in the comfort of your own car. The idea caught on and became extremely popular, but all these years later there is only one drive-in theater left in New Jersey.

Delsea Drive-In Theater in Vineland, New Jersey

The Delsea Drive-In Movie Theater opened in 1949 and closed in 1987. It reopened in 2004 and has been in operation since then. It is the only drive-in theater in the state.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time.

The theater is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (Fridays and Saturdays after Labor Day weekend) through November. Thursdays will be added upon request.
