Rebbapragada confirmed that such a correlation exists, citing A piece as a prime example of this phenomenon: “Netflix has a huge platform and more people watch live-action films than animations. So these two things have made the franchise more popular. It’s not just Crunchyroll that benefits from this. Merchandising sales of One Piece have increased more. There have been more streamings of the original A piece series. We have it on our platform, but so do others. So when a franchise has a big moment, all boats rise.”
