Nebraska Football quarterback Dylan Raiola after the game; Cornhuskers lose to Illinois
Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola met with the media following a 31-24 overtime loss to Illinois. The Huskers fall to 3-1 on the season.
You can watch the entire performance above. Below is an excerpt from Raiola’s statement.
On what he saw in the game at the end of the fourth quarter
“I saw Luke (Lindenmeyer) was completely free. I don’t know. I missed the winning shot. I mean, that was our chance to win the game. I’m going to take this game on and I’ve got to get better and be better for our team. I put us in a position to win.”
The immediate findings from the first Big Ten game
“It was nothing different. Same old football. It’s no different kind of football playing in the Big Ten than in other conferences. It was OK. It was fun. Great atmosphere. We didn’t quite measure up.”
On the performance of the defense
“It’s not really the defense’s fault. It’s our job to score regardless of the circumstances. They had a well-oiled offensive machine. Their quarterback worked his ass off. Hats off to them. Had a great game plan. There’s really no added pressure. It’s just execution. I thought our defense played very well. There are little things that we obviously want to get back under control and change the game.”
