The Los Angeles Clippers guard had an expression of pure shock and horror on his face in the hilarious, now viral video

James Harden seemed a bit stressed at a friend’s wedding.

The NBA star went viral with his hilarious reaction to his girlfriend catching the bouquet at a wedding over the weekend. In a clip Shared on X (formerly Twitter), a crowd of wedding guests could be seen gathered behind the bride as she threw the bouquet amid much cheering and clapping.

The flowers landed on the ground at the back of the crowd and a woman in a black dress bent down to pick them up. Then the camera panned to show Harden, 34, standing next to her in a black suit. While the woman – who, it turns out, is his girlfriend Paije Speights – reacted excitedly, the Los Angeles Clippers guard had a less than thrilled look on his face.

He stood stiffly, staring straight ahead, without blinking or saying anything, not even when his girlfriend hugged him with the bouquet of flowers in her hand.

In the comments below the video, fans shared their joy at the embarrassing moment and called it an “instant meme.”

“Bro is literally terrified,” someone wrote about Harden.

“He should have gone on the defensive,” joked another, and a third chimed in: “My husband thought he was safe at the back.”

One fan even imagined that “prenuptial agreements were being drawn up in his head.”

Harden is currently enjoying the offseason after the Clippers were eliminated in the first round of the postseason after a loss to the Dallas Mavericks on May 3. The athlete, who won an Olympic gold medal with the US team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, joined the Clippers in November after playing a year with the Philadelphia 76ers.

More than 15 million people reportedly tuned in to the live stream, and Harden’s reaction was unforgettably delighted when he learned how well sales were going.

At one point, he looked at the computer and saw that 5,000 orders (for two bottles each) had been received, which caused him to laugh, applaud, and say “I love you” to the audience several times.

Seconds later, another 6,000 bottles had been sold and Harden did a cartwheel to celebrate.
