NBA champion Derrick White featured in viral clip of brawl at Rocky Mountain Showdown in Colorado
A recording has gone viral showing a popular former CU basketball player apparently involved in a brawl with CSU participants at the 2024 Rocky Mountain Showdown.
NBA champion Derrick White was seen in a new clip from Saturday with CU and CSU fans at Canvas Stadium, where fans were visibly pushing and shoving. It appeared as though no one in the clip suffered any serious injuries.
TMZ originally obtained the clip and reported on White’s involvement in the “brawl.” At one point in the clip, White is seen being punched or hit in the face, but he shows no signs of serious injury.
CSU confirmed to CBS Colorado on Monday that it was aware of the viral video and White’s involvement, but said no police report had been filed regarding the incident and there were no reports of injuries related to possible crowd disturbances during the game. The university had no further comment.
According to the CSU’s knowledge, all those potentially involved were asked to leave the stadium and did so cooperatively.
White, who won the last NBA championship with the Boston Celtics, was a member of CU’s men’s basketball program during the 2016–17 NCAA season.
