Best Bets for Washington Nationals vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Side bet on the whole game

Insider status:

Evaluation:

This time, it’s a rare matchup of pitchers named Mitch. Parker started the season strong, with a 5-3 record on June 16, but things haven’t been going well since. In his last 13 starts, Parker has a 2-6 record with a 5.54 ERA while opposing hitters have posted a .283/.332/.476 slash line in 65 innings. On the other hand, Keller improved to 8-3 with a 3.16 ERA after pitching six hitless innings against the Twins on June 7. On July 8, he was 10-5 after eight two-run innings against the Mets before going sour. Since then, Keller has a 1-4 record with a 5.05 ERA, allowing nine home runs in 46.1 innings in nine starts since then. Something has to happen here, and with the Pirates having some momentum on their side and playing at home, the Bucs have the edge here.

Prediction: Pittsburgh Pirates -135

Total selection for the whole game

Evaluation:

Washington entered Friday’s games with the over at 66-66-5. The Nationals rank 21st in the major leagues with a 4.20 runs per game average: that number rises to an average of 4.21 runs per road game before Friday’s game. Washington has scored an 8.95 runs per game average, but that rises slightly to 8.96 runs per road game. Pittsburgh entered Friday’s games with the under at 64-62-5. The Pirates rank 20th in the league with a 4.22 runs per game average, but that rises to 4.36 runs per game at PNC Park. Pittsburgh has scored an 8.80 runs per game average, but that rises to 9.13 runs per game as the home team. The opening game of this series went over the total score, and with both arms struggling, it’s safe to assume this game will also end over the mark.
