Josef Newgarden talks about the transition from IndyCar drivers to NASCAR
Nashville IndyCar driver Josef Newgarden says he would like to move to NASCAR Cup racing at some point.
The NASCAR Cup Series continues the playoffs with the Round of 16 cutoff race on Saturday, the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Four drivers will be eliminated from the play-off field after the race, and the last four drivers in the points table will no longer have any hope of winning the championship.
Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski and Harrison Burton start the day below the cutline, but all are within reach of breaking into the top 12 in points. And a win also sends a playoff driver to the next round.
Alex Bowman is on pole and in a good position with respect to the playoff cutline (41 points ahead of 13th place). We will be following the battle for the playoffs all evening long.

Alex Bowman led a one-two-three finish for Hendrick Motorsports in Saturday’s race by securing his first pole of the season.
