Mullen subsidiary Bollinger Motors gives the go-ahead for

BREA, Calif., August 21, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – via IBN – Mullen Automotive, Inc. (NASDAQ: MUL) (“Mullen” or the “Company”), an electric vehicle (“EV”) manufacturer, today announced that its subsidiary, Bollinger Motors (“Bollinger”), plans to begin production of saleable units of the Bollinger B4 Chassis Cab on September 16, 2024. Deliveries and revenue recognition of the B4 EV truck are expected to begin in October 2024. A video highlighting Bollinger’s production launch can be found here Here.

The Bollinger B4 chassis with cabina brand new Class 4 commercial truck, was designed from the ground up with extensive fleet and converter input. Bollinger Motors’ unique, purpose-built electric vehicle chassis design encloses and protects the 158 kWh battery pack and components, providing unprecedented capability and safety in the commercial vehicle market. The Bollinger B4 is significantly different from other electric vehicles that use externally mounted batteries on repurposed ICE chassis, exposing the batteries to potential risks.

Bollinger Motors is partnering with Roush Industries, which provides contract manufacturing services from its Livonia, Michigan facility, for production. The partnership leverages Roush’s extensive manufacturing and e-mobility expertise acquired over 50 years of innovative engineering, testing, prototyping and manufacturing services – as well as its work in producing the Bollinger B4 development vehicles in 2023.

“This is an exciting time in Bollinger Motors’ history because it takes a tremendous team effort to get from launch to production in the timeframe we achieved,” said Bryan Chambers, President of Bollinger Motors. “The team at Bollinger Motors, Roush Industries and our entire supply chain network have worked tirelessly to make the B4 a reality and I am very proud of everyone’s accomplishment.”

“We’re already seeing strong momentum in the market with key customers across the country,” said Jim Connelly, chief revenue officer of Bollinger Motors. “We’re confident we’re delivering them a truck that will reward their trust and help transform their business. We can’t wait to get the B4 on the road and electrify America’s fleets.”

The production date announcement comes shortly after several other key milestones for Bollinger Motors, including providing a full warranty on the B4 Chassis Cab, receiving the Environmental Protection Agency Certificate of Compliance, selling 70 vehicles to Doering Fleet Management, 80 vehicles to Momentum Group, 50 vehicles to EnviroCharge, five vehicles to Spencer Manufacturing, adding Nacarato Truck Centers, Nuss Truck & Equipment and LaFontaine Auto Group as dealers and service centers, Our Next Energy in Novi, Michigan to supply the battery packs, Roush Industries in Livonia, Michigan to manage vehicle assembly, Syncron as a warranty management partner and Amerit Fleet Solutions as a mobile services provider.

In addition, Bollinger Motors recently qualified for a federal Clean Vehicle Tax Credit of $40,000 per vehicle (for the B4 Chassis Cab) under the Inflation Reduction Act.
