MTG publicly condemns Laura Loomer’s racist Kamala Harris post

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, criticized someone close to him for a racist online post about Vice President Kamala Harris.

Greene was responding to a post on X by Trump’s deputy and far-right media personality Laura Loomer that contained racist remarks about Harris’ Native American ancestry.

“This is horrific and extremely racist,” Greene said in her response. “This does not represent who we are as Republicans or MAGA. This does not represent President Trump. This behavior should never be tolerated.”

Greene also asked Loomer to remove the post.

“Their rhetoric and their tone are not consistent with the base, not consistent with MAGA, not consistent with most Republicans I know,” Greene told reporters at the U.S. Capitol. “I condemn this in the strongest possible terms; I’m over it.”

Racism in politics: The cliché “immigrants eat pets” is a centuries-old stereotype and “very old racism”

The conservative agitator MTG has already been criticized by the party for his links to white nationalism

Greene is a conservative hardliner who was elected in 2020 and became known for her inflammatory remarks.

Earlier this year, an exchange with Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett went viral when Greene said, “I think your false eyelashes are ruining what you’re reading,” for which Crockett called Greene a racist.

Greene also tried to oust Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson after he passed an aid package for Ukraine.

In 2022, Greene spoke to a meeting of white nationalists who support Russian President Vladimir Putin, earning rebuke from the chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Greene defended her appearance at the time by saying that she had focused on “God and freedom” in her speech and did not want to get involved in the “guilt by association game.”
