MSNBC host compares Kamala to Trump: “He gets so much credit,” but “she’s a great interviewer”

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle compared Donald Trump and Kamala Harris after her recent interview with the vice president, saying the vice president came across as “quite reasonable.” The interview covered a variety of topics, including the economy, immigration and reproductive rights.

Following the interview, Ruhle spoke to “All In” host Chris Hayes and compared Harris’ “normal” reactions to the comments of her Republican opponent.

“The crazy thing is that Donald Trump gets so much credit – and has for nine years – because people have access to him and he says what he thinks and just lets it out. But a lot of what he says either doesn’t make sense or isn’t true,” Ruhle said, adding that Harris, on the other hand, has been “actually perfectly reasonable.”

“There are some things she doesn’t give us a direct answer to – because she is a politician,” Ruhle added.

“You may not have liked all of her answers, but she had an answer for every single question.”

Harris said in the interview that taxes would not be raised for Americans earning over $400,000 annually. She again discussed her plans to provide a $6,000 tax credit to parents of newborns, a $25,000 down payment to first-time home buyers and a $50,000 small business tax credit.

Ruhle agreed with Hayes that Harris has been “savvy” and “sensible” in the interviews she has given since being nominated as the Democratic nominee. “What do you do when you’re on her campaign team and you keep hearing people say, ‘I don’t know her policies.’ You could say, ‘We have this 82-page book.’ I guarantee there are people who watched tonight who said, ‘Oh, taxes only go up if you make over 400,000,'” Ruhle said.

“You don’t really read the 82-page plan. And I think the more she sits down – and she doesn’t necessarily have to do this with us – the better interviewer she is,” Ruhe added. “I sat with her for 25 minutes. You may not have liked every one of her answers, but she had an answer for every single question.”
