A Morrisville farm was one of 32 recipients of the tree planting grant through GIANT Company’s Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful program.

The GIANT Company, in partnership with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, has announced the recipients of its 2024 Healing the Planet grant program. The program provides $108,243 to support tree-planting initiatives across the state, writes Mac Bell for WHTM.

The 32 grantees include the Snipes Farm and Education Center in Morrisville, a nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainable agriculture and community education.

With this grant, they will advance their mission to reconnect people with their land and promote environmental stewardship.

Other nearby beneficiaries include the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford Watershed Partnership of Jenkintown and the Open Land Conservancy in Malvern and Berwyn.

Founded in 2008, the Snipes Farm and Education Center has deep roots in Bucks County, as the Snipes family has been farming the area since 1688.

The farm serves as an “open-air classroom” and offers educational opportunities that emphasize sustainable practices and the importance of conserving natural resources.
