DANVERS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — It’s not just photographers and videographers who capture wedding memories.
Inspired by social media, more and more happy couples are choosing to hire a live wedding painter.
Artists like Danvers-based Devin Tormey Travel to a ceremony and spend hours painting, creating a portrait of the happy couple and chatting with guests.
She recently served as the live wedding artist at a ceremony in Dartmouth and explained how she worked. “I incorporate a little bit of that lake view into the window behind the couple and really work on the details of their venue,” she said.
She spends 6-7 hours at a ceremony, chatting with guests while she paints. “I love hearing all the love and joy that goes into a wedding.”
After the wedding, she spends dozens of hours working on the details in her home studio before shipping the creations.
Devin says she is honored to be a part of so many special moments. “You dream about (this day) and that’s where I come in. I dream about it with you.”
Given the increased interest, Devin says he is fully booked for the rest of the year, with only a handful of spots left for 2025.
