Monumental Sports Network Announces 2024 College Football Broadcast Schedule

Independent network to broadcast 19 college football games this season; renews partnerships with Towson, Richmond and HBCU GO

Washington, D.C. (August 20, 2024) Monumental sports network (MNMT) is your home for college football in the DMV area during the 2024 season. Today, the award-winning local media platform announced partnerships with regional schools University of Richmond and Towson University as well as GO HBCU, ventilate an extensive selection of college football games during the coming season. Monumental’s 2024 college football schedule includes 19 games – the most in the network’s history – including 15 games involving Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and matchups with local schools such as William & Mary, Virginia Union and Morgan State.

Monumental Sports Networks College football coverage begins on Sunday, September 1, when Virginia Union takes on Kentucky State. All Richmond and Towson games will be broadcast live on MNMT, while Recorded games will air on HBCU GO on Sundays throughout the fall, allowing area fans to watch their favorite teams all season long.

“While we are best known for our outstanding coverage of the Capitals, Wizards and Mystics, Monumental Sports Network is committed to providing a major league-quality platform for a wide range of local teams and a variety of sports to build a strong sense of community and unify the power of sports in this region,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager of Monumental Sports Network. “With nearly 20 college football games on the air, it will be an action-packed fall on our network and we are excited for kickoff.”

More than three million households in the network’s service area will be able to watch local college football games on MNMT in the coming months. Fans with a pay-TV subscription will be able to watch games on Monumental Sports Network, if included in their channel lineup, and will also be able to stream games on www.monumentalsportsnetwork.com or by downloading the Monumental Sports Network app on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV using an eligible TV Everywhere login.

As part of the partnership with Towson, Monumental Sports Network will also broadcast two Towson women’s volleyball games on the network next season: Friday, October 4, against North Carolina A&T (3 p.m.) and Sunday, November 3, against Northeastern (2 p.m.).

Monumental Sports Network is the exclusive local television rights holder for the NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. The network also prides itself on its extensive slate of original programming and live broadcasts of men’s and women’s college basketball, college football, college volleyball, high school basketball and esports, as well as games from the Washington Spirit (NWSL), Old Glory DC (Major League Rugby), Washington Freedom (Major League Cricket), Hershey Bears (AHL) and Annapolis Blues (NPSL).
