Monsoon chaos in India: From Tripura in the east to Gujarat in the west, several Indian states are suffering from the devastating effects of heavy rains in recent days. Heavy downpours, flash floods and severe flooding have claimed nearly 64 lives in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tripura over the past week. The death toll will rise even further if the victims of the floods in Gujarat are added to the list. The state is expected to experience more rains in the coming days.

Latest information on flood affected states: Tripura, Andhra, Telangana, Gujarat etc.

– Flood-hit Gujarat is expected to receive more rainfall in the coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department, southern and central regions of Gujarat are on alert on September 4. The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in Anand and Bharuch districts.

-After the weather in August, the weather forecasting department has also predicted heavy rains for Gujarat in September. According to experts, the coastal state received around 105 percent of its average rainfall in a matter of days in August.

– Days after floods caused massive damage in parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, they began receding in several parts of the state on Tuesday. Neighbouring states did not receive heavy rains on Tuesday, giving state governments an opportunity to intensify relief efforts in the affected areas.

-Heavy rains have left nearly 33 people dead in both the states (16 in Telangana and 17 in Andhra Pradesh), PTI reported. Besides the tragic loss of life, the monsoon chaos also damaged several important infrastructures and agricultural lands.

– Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his Telangana counterpart Revanth Reddy visited some flood-affected areas in their territories.

– Tripura experienced extremely heavy rainfall from August 19 to 24, causing massive disruption to services and loss of life. Due to the monsoon chaos, the state government had to declare the entire state a “natural disaster affected area” due to the aftermath of the massive rainfall and the floods that followed.

– “Landslides have affected everything from roads to electricity to agriculture and horticulture, causing widespread destruction. This is the worst rainfall in Tripura’s history. Southern districts, including Sabroom, received unprecedented rainfall. A total of 493.6 mm of rain fell,” ANI quoted Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha as saying on Monday, September 2.
