Monday Night Football Open Thread: Seahawks-Lions & Dolphins-Titans

Anyone who cares about the NFC West (that means you, San Francisco 49ers fans) will be watching one of the two Monday Night Football games tonight. The Tennessee Titans face the Miami Dolphins and the Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Detroit Lions. Guess which one everyone will see.

Titan dolphins

If the NFL could bend the Titans-Dolphins, it probably would. The Dolphins still don’t have a quarterback, while the Titans haven’t won a single win this season. To be fair, they played against the likes of the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Green Bay Packers – which isn’t exactly an easy schedule. Except for the fact that the Bears weren’t that great and the Packers had Malik Willis at quarterback.

So no, the Titans aren’t exactly good. Most of this is due to their offense, which presents some issues.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins got off to a good start, but quickly fell into mediocrity with the injury to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It’s hard to guess how good the Seattle Seahawks are this year, as they essentially received the Dolphins without a quarterback in Seattle, an extremely difficult place to play. Neither team likely will do much in 2024, unfortunately.

Through all the doom and gloom, these teams are always playing! FanDuel Sportsbook has the Dolphins up by 2.5 points. Take the dolphins. The Titans have lost games by at least seven points the last three weeks, and the replacement in Green Bay helped them lose by 16 points in Week 3. The Dolphins will also be without running back Raheem Mostert, but they should be able to win this game by more than two and a half.

Although it is difficult to choose a team, I have no problem scoring less than 37.5 points. This game is getting boring. 21-10 boring is what I think.

Seahawks-Lions

This is a game everyone will be watching, and San Francisco 49ers fans have a lot of interest in it. The Seahawks are currently 3-0 and just said goodbye to a handicapped Dolphins team. It’s hard to decide what the 2024 Seahawks are. They beat the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. This isn’t exactly a collection of quality wins.

Then again, the 49ers lost to the Los Angeles Rams last week, so I’m not the guy to talk.

My point is that we really don’t know what the Seahawks are at this point. They have the Lions tonight. A Detroit win would be a wonderful weekend for the 49ers, as they would be just one game behind the Seahawks in the division race. The Seahawks’ schedule is getting tougher; You have the New York Giants next week, but then the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams and the 49ers. All of these games, even the Rams, are not gimmicks.

The Lions’ only loss this year came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who defeated the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. It’s hard to see what kind of team they have. Regardless of each team’s lack of clarity, this is going to be a terribly entertaining game.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Lions have a 4.5-point lead. Man, I don’t like this spread. Part of me believes the Lions will explode tonight and expose the Seahawks. The other part of me thinks it will be close with a last minute field goal. I still think the Lions should be covered. The Seahawks’ party is over. As for the over/under? I have a good one: The Lions are over. You will achieve more than 25.5 points. I believe in Jared Goff.

Go, Lions.
