The Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks have history over the last three seasons.

Seattle has had the upper hand over the Lions recently, winning all three games in the last three seasons.

The Seahawks defeated the Lions in 2021. In 2022, a Seattle win in Week 4 ultimately led to the Lions missing the playoffs after their late-season surge.

Last season, Seattle came to Ford Field and won for the second straight year. Now on Monday Night Football, the Lions will try to prevail against a team that has been their number one team in recent years.

It’s the first time Dan Campbell will face Mike Macdonald, who is in his first year leading the Seahawks. Macdonald took over from Pete Carroll, who retired after last season.

The Seahawks are off to a 3-0 start. Detroit improved its record to 2-1 last week with a 20-13 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Monday will be an exciting night for Detroit. In addition to the first appearance of the season on Monday Night Football, the team will debut new black alternate uniforms and honor Calvin Johnson at halftime with induction into the team’s Pride of the Lions.

Monday night’s showdown will be part of a doubleheader pitting the Tennessee Titans against the Miami Dolphins. Detroit is the second game, with the Titans and Dolphins starting at 7:15 a.m.
