Rodger Copeland – McDonald Co. Sheriff’s Office Mugshot

McDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – A McDonald County man is arrested for allegedly filming students in a high school locker room with a hidden camera.

On Friday, teachers at McDonald County High School contacted the sheriff’s office after students turned in a hidden camera they found in the girls’ locker room. Detectives were immediately assigned to the case and assisted the school’s SRO.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for the device and say they trace its ownership to Rodger Copeland, 53, of Neosho. On Copeland’s LinkedIn page, Copeland lists himself as an administrator for the school district.

He was arrested by Neosho Police and MCSO detectives and taken to the McDonald County Jail, where he remains without bail.

Late in the afternoon, the district released a statement saying Copeland was no longer employed. Additionally, they said they could not comment further due to the ongoing investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing and a forensic analysis of the device is still pending. No charges have yet been filed.
