Mississippi lawyer is manic and wet after being arrested for smuggling cell phones and drugs into prison
A Mississippi lawyer looked manic and wet in his mugshot after he was arrested for smuggling contraband into prison.
According to the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Sidney Dale allegedly posed as a legal advisor to inmates in Hinds County and smuggled in cell phones and other illegal items.
During a visit with inmates on Thursday, Dale was caught with a briefcase full of marijuana, tobacco products, scales and two cell phones with chargers, according to photos released by the sheriff’s office.
“Attorney Dale, in a position of trust responsible for the constitutional rights of arrested suspects, compromised the safety and integrity of the Hinds County Detention Centers and the public,” Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said in a statement.
Dale was detained, interrogated and later arrested.
In his mug shot, the lawyer appeared soaking wet in his gray suit and loosened tie, and his eyes bulged from under his toupee hairstyle.
Dale is charged with three counts of introducing contraband into a correctional facility and two counts of conspiracy.
Jones said the investigation is ongoing and there may be more charges and arrests.
