Season series: Guardians lead 7-2

The Twins saved the series finale against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, winning 9-2 as a moderate favorite (-166) because the over (9) was cashed. Minnesota has won 3 of its last 5 games and cashed the over in all 5 games.

The Guardians tied the 4-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, winning 2-0 thanks to RHP Ben Lively. The Under scored in all 4 games of the series at home, with Cleveland scoring an average of 2.8 runs per game (RPG) on offense while allowing just 2.3 RPG.

Tips and predictions for the Twins at the Guardians

forecast

Gemini 4, Guardian 2

Money line

The TWINS (-115) are a solid bet as slight favorites to start this series.

Lopez has been on a tear lately, going 5-1 with a 1.79 ERA in his last 7 starts. It won’t be easy, as left-handed Boyd has also pitched well since his team debut. It will be tough, but Minnesota is a strong option to start off on the right foot.

Running Line/Against the Spread

If you are a little more adventurous, play the TWINS -1.5 (+150) on the run line and not on the money line.

Minnesota has only three wins in its last nine games, but it has won by two or more runs in each of those victories, so if you want the Twins to win, you’d also want them to impress at the run line.

Over/Under

UNDER 7.5 (-105) is a great play in this AL Central Division showdown.

The under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 meetings. While the over has scored at a 5-0 pace on the Twins, the total on the Guardians has been at an insane 12-1-2 pace in their last 15 games.

The under record in Boyd’s last four starts is also 3-1, while the total in Lopez’s last four appearances is a low 2-1-1.
