Miles Teller will join Peyton and Eli during the Eagles-Falcons

Peyton and Eli Manning will welcome some Eagles fans to ESPN Manningcast tonight when the Birds face the Atlanta Falcons in their home opener at Lincoln Financial Field.

Downington native Miles Teller, known for his roles in Top Shooter: Maverick And Whiplashwill join the Manning brothers’ alternative Monday Night Football tonight on ESPN2. It’s unclear when he will appear on the show, which begins at 8 p.m. Philly time.

Teller’s family moved frequently during his childhood, from Pennsylvania to Cape May and Delaware before moving to Florida during high school. Despite this, Teller remained a diehard Eagles fan and can often be seen in the stands cheering on the Birds at Lincoln Financial Field. He has also been a regular at Citizens Bank Park during the Phillies’ last two playoff runs over the past few seasons.

“The most important criterion for the guest is that he loves football,” Peyton recently told John Ourand on The University Podcast. “Inviting a celebrity to appear can be more than just to promote your new film or book.”

One thing you can probably expect tonight: Teller will pull out his Peyton impersonation, which he did in a sketch during the season premiere of Saturday Night Live last year.

Another guest tonight is former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, an Exton native and Penn Charter graduate who joined CBS this season as part of a revamped lineup for the The NFL today pregame show. Also present will be Bill Belichick, the former head coach of the New England Patriots, who is filling his schedule with media appearances this season. Belichick is expected to appear at every Manningcast will air this season and tonight he will be at the Linc when he joins the Manning brothers.

For the Eagles, it is the fifth time that the Birds have played on the Manningcastwhich is in its fourth season on ESPN. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts – who attended the Mannings’ quarterback camp during his sophomore year at Alabama – was a guest in 2022, where he revealed that he enjoys watching game tapes of former San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and wore a hoodie with the slogan “God bless everyone who hates me.”

The Manningcast is one of the most successful alternative NFL game broadcasts, regularly drawing about a million viewers (last week’s episode averaged only 872,000 viewers, but ESPN2 was also blocked on DirecTV due to a broadcast dispute that was settled Saturday). This year, the Manning brothers will be playing during 10 Monday Night Football games and a wild card game during the playoffs, and they will also commentate on Super Bowl LXI in 2027, which will air on ABC and ESPN.

Both Peyton and Eli broadcast from afar – Eli from the basement of his house in Northern New Jersey, Peyton from a vintage car repair shop in Denver owned by his friend Don Saba. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are now in their third season together and are calling Monday Night Football on ESPN, which will also air in Philadelphia tonight on 6abc, as NFL rules dictate that games must be televised in their local markets. King of Prussia’s Lisa Salters is also back for her 12th season as Monday Night Football Reporters on the sidelines, together with NFL Live Presenter Laura Rutledge.

There is also former Eagles center Jason Kelce, who is playing this season as a member of the Monday evening countdown Pregame show featuring host Scott Van Pelt and fellow analysts Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears. Kelce and Co. begin tonight Monday evening countdown on Xfinity Live! before heading to the sidelines at the Linc.

“If we all get out alive, I’ll consider that a victory,” Van Pelt told the Inquirer last month. “And if not, we’ll go out with glory.”
