preview

Michigan State (2-0, 1-0 Big Ten) looks to remain undefeated when it hosts Prairie View A&M (1-1) for the first time in program history on Saturday afternoon.

In last Saturday’s game, the Spartans came back and sealed a 27-24 road win over Maryland with a 37-yard field goal by Jonathan Kim to open Big Ten play.

MSU quarterback Aidan Chiles struggled with consistency against the Terrapins, throwing three interceptions. Chiles completed 24 of 39 passing attempts for 363 yards, the eighth-most by a quarterback in a single game in program history.

Nick Marsh had an outstanding performance with eight catches for 194 yards, including a 77-yard touchdown to tie the game in the fourth quarter and bolster MSU’s closing momentum.

Prairie View A&M is coming off a 37-31 non-conference win over Northwestern State last week. Prairie View A&M’s Cameron Peters completed 18 of 33 passing attempts for 280 yards. The quarterback threw two touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Panthers are led by Bubba McDowell, who has been head coach for three years.
