Michigan residents are addicted to their cell phones

It is clear that we live in a digital world and with that comes this subconscious idea that we have to be available to everyone at all times. This leads to a strong mental dependence on our phones.

It turns out that Michiganders in general are developing a SEVERE addiction, as a recent survey shows, Michiganders are reaching for their phones way too often. I can attest to this, as I was recently asked about how often I pull out my phone. The constant connection to the tiny screen is a serious problem, as they point out:

Did you pick up your phone to read this? It turns out youo that again over 750 times this week! Hosting Tipsa source of web hosting information, uncovered this and more by using screen time data from 3,126 survey respondents to determine how much of the day Americans spend on their phones. A new study surveyed over 3,000 Americans and asked them to report their daily screen time throughout the week.

The website made it clear how bad it is here in Michigan, showing that on average we suffer from a serious problem every day, regardless of what day we use our phone the most:

  • The average Michigan citizen spends about 6 hours 39 minutes on their mobile phones every day.
  • You pick up the phone, for example 113.6 times per day.
  • The day they use their phone the most is Friday.
  • The app with the longest screen time in Michigan? TikTok.
