Michigan fans aren’t convinced Big House’s ‘strip-out’ will work

On Friday, the Michigan football program’s social media accounts officially announced the first “stripe-out” at the Big House. To make things easier, Michigan issued a guide that indicates what color to wear based on your seating section. Even sections will wear BLUE, odd sections will wear CORN BLUE, and the student section will also wear CORN BLUE.

Seems simple enough, right? After all, we’ve seen other stadiums do strip-outs with incredible results, including Tennessee, Penn State, and BYU. Heck, even the folks in East Lansing did it.

Although the maize-out efforts have been quite successful in recent years, Michigan fans don’t seem too confident that 110,000 people can put on an incredible visual experience on September 21 against USC.

As for the game itself, USC will be traveling to Ann Arbor for the first time since 1958. The Wolverines and Trojans have met 10 times since 1948, with USC holding a 6-4 edge over Michigan. In fact, USC has won six of the last seven meetings since 1970, all of which came in the Rose Bowl. But in 2024, Michigan is the current favorite for the Week 4 meeting on Sept. 21 – ESPN gives the Wolverines a 65.7 percent chance of winning the game.
