Miami basketball’s full ACC schedule features Duke twice

Miami already knew their 2024-25 ACC opponents and on Tuesday night the Hurricanes learned their full schedule. The ACC announced Monday that Miami will open the season Dec. 7 against Clemson. After nearly a month off, Miami will resume ACC play on January 1st at Boston College.

Miami will complete a two-game ACC road trip at Virginia Tech on Jan. 4. Duke will host Miami on January 14th and play at the Watsco Center on February 25th. Florida State plays Miami on Jan. 8 and the Hurricanes play Tallahassee in February 19. Miami hosts Virginia Tech on Feb. 22.

The rest of Miami’s ACC schedule is at Stanford on January 22nd, California on January 25th, Louisville on February 8th, Pittsburgh on February 15th, North Carolina on March 1st and March 4th at Georgia Tech.

ACC teams that will visit the Watsco Center include Wake Forest on Jan. 11, SMU on Jan. 18, Virginia on Jan. 29, Notre Dame on Feb. 1, Syracuse on Feb. 11 and North Carolina State in the regular season finale on March 8th.

Also on Tuesday, ESPN released its latest bracketology predictions. ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi predicts Miami is the ninth seed in the South Region against Xavier in Lexington, Kentucky. The Miami-Xavier winner is expected to face the winner between top-seeded Auburn and No. 16 Morehead State or Southern University.

Lunardi has the five teams mentioned above in the South Regional, with the winner in Lexington going on to play in Atlanta the following weekend. Tenth-seeded Miami defeated second-seeded Auburn in the 2022 NCAA Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.

Miami won its next game against Iowa State in the Midwest Regional Semifinals in Chicago, advancing to the regional finals for the first time in program history. A season later, Miami reached its first Final Four. Miami will attempt to return to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in four years after a subpar 2023-24 season.

Guards Paul Djobet and Nijel Pack and forward Matthew Cleveland are the only returnees on Miami’s 2024-25 roster. Miami signed the seventh-best 2024 class in the 247Sports Composite rankings and the 29th-best transfer class. Freshman guard Jalil Bethea and transfer Jalen Blackmon highlight the new additions.
