Metro-North service briefly delayed Saturday morning after person struck by train in Cos Cob

On Saturday morning, a person was hit by a train in Cos Cob, prompting Metro North to restrict service from New Haven to Grand Central.

According to Metro-North, a train traveling from New Haven to Grand Central Station was delayed at Cos Cob Station around 7:30 a.m. because of a report of an “unauthorized person on the tracks.”

The person was taken to a local hospital and an investigation has been initiated.

The incident resulted in single-track operations between Cos Cob and Stamford and a delay.

Initially there were delays of up to 35 minutes. By midday the trains were running again as scheduled or almost as scheduled.

At the time of going to press, the authorities had not yet provided any information about the injuries sustained by the person who was hit.
