Metro expands Great Place to Work certification worldwide

Metro has achieved a significant milestone with the extension of its Great Place to Work (GPTW) certification to its Chennai office. This reflects the hard work and dedication of the Metro India team and reinforces the company’s commitment to creating a supportive and fulfilling work environment in all its offices globally.

The Great Place to Work certification is a globally recognized symbol of excellence, awarded to companies that excel in providing a positive employee experience. It is based on anonymous employee feedback and a rigorous audit of work practices to ensure that only companies that are truly committed to a great work culture receive the accreditation.

In the most recent review, Metro received impressive feedback from its employees, with 93% agreeing that Metro is a great place to work. Other highlights include that 95% of employees said they felt welcomed when they joined the company, 97% were proud to tell others that they work for Metro, and 96% praised management for its clear vision and ethical business practices.

Metro Managing Director Grant Liddell praised the success, saying: “This is another important milestone for Metro, making us the employer of choice in our industry in the UK and India. I am personally delighted that my colleagues enjoy our working culture and feel safe, valued and treated fairly.”

Grant also emphasized that the certification plays an important role in attracting highly talented employees from around the world. It gives Metro’s HR department a recruiting advantage by providing scientifically based validation of the positive employee experience at the company.

Not only does GPTW certification help Metro recruit the best talent, it also builds employee pride and places Metro in a community of other great employers, sharing insights and practices that help further strengthen the company’s work culture.

Metro continues to expand globally and being recognized as a Great Place to Work solidifies its position as a leader in the logistics and supply chain industry. The company’s commitment to creating a supportive, ethical and engaging workplace ensures it remains competitive and can attract and retain the best talent globally.
