After spending the last year touring in support of their 2023 album “72 Seasons,” Metallica are not ready to call it a day and will continue touring next year.

And this time they’re coming to Philly.

As organizers announced Thursday, four more bands – Pantera, Limp Bizkit, Suicidal Tendencies and Ice Nine Kills – will perform on upcoming tour dates, and the band will continue its “No Repeat Weekend” tradition of featuring completely different opening acts and setlists at consecutive shows.

The tour starts in April next year and stops for two shows at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly on May 23 and 25, 2025.

Ticket sales begin next Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10 a.m.

Promoters said that in addition to the two shows in the City of Brotherly Love, next year will also feature the band’s first performances in Nashville in five years (on May 1 and 3, 2025) and that Metallica will make its first appearances in Tampa, Florida, in 15 years on June 6 and 8, 2025.

Metallica will also perform concerts in their hometown, California’s Bay Area, when they perform in Santa Clara on June 20 and 22, 2025.

Additionally, the band will stop at two college football stadiums – in Syracuse, NY and Blacksburg, VA – as part of their tour next year.

Organizers said the M72 World Tour’s 2025 itinerary will also include two festival headliners – the first being the tour’s opening night on April 12 at Sick New World at the Las Vegas Festival Ground.

And then the band will celebrate a festival/no-repeat weekend combo on May 9 and 11, when Metallica will play two headlining sets at the Sonic Temple at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Additionally, M72 2025 will be Metallica’s long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand.
