For Metallica, the journey continues endlessly. The veteran rockers announced on Thursday morning (September 19) that their M72 world tour is entering its third year and will play 21 dates in North America from April to June.
Shows kick off in Las Vegas on April 12th with a festival appearance at NV Sick New World @ Las Vegas Festival Grounds before heading north for two nights in Toronto, then back for a double bill at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, two appearances at the Sonic Temple Festival in Columbus, OH, followed by stadium shows in Philadelphia, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa (their first visit to the city in 15 years) and Houston before wrapping up with performances on June 27th and 29th at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. The tour also includes two hometown shows in the Bay Area on June 20th and 22nd, which will be their debut at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.
Opening acts include Pantera, bassist Robert Trujillo’s former band Suicidal Tendencies, as well as Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills. The M72 tour kicked off in Amsterdam in 2023 and has played to over three million fans to date, highlighting the “No Repeat Weekend” tradition, where each night of the two-day performances features completely different setlists and opening acts.
