A McDonald’s employee has revealed a habit of drive-thru customers that could lead to them being ignored by staff.

The fast-food worker, who goes by the TikTok username @maccaworkaddict, called this widespread behavior “rude.” The employee explained that while it may feel odd to order over a loudspeaker rather than in person, there are certain things customers should avoid.

In her TikTok video, she dances to the music while a caption appears: “You can’t always ignore the car in the drive-thru because they yell ‘hi’ as soon as they get there.”

She expressed frustration that customers were shouting to get attention, even though an alert system already alerts staff to the presence of a vehicle at the drive-thru. While some TikTok users agreed with her stance, others disagreed, prompting her to declare that her videos were “all a joke” and should not be taken seriously, Dublin Live reported.

The McDonald’s worker suggested customers wait if staff did not respond immediately, but an onlooker replied: “How about you just say, ‘Hold on, I’ll be right with you.’ I’ll say hello because I don’t know if they know I’m there,” the Daily Record reports.

Another drive-thru employee humorously chimed in: “Every time they say hi I make them wait another 10 seconds lol.”

Someone who used to work at Burger King shared his experience: “I hated working at Burger King, especially when the customers sat out there and yelled as soon as I put the headset on.”

One person spoke up and admitted, “I can totally understand that. I do that or I immediately respond, ‘Yes, how can I help you?!’ and make it clear that I’m upset.”

In other news, a former McDonald’s chef has revealed how to recreate the legendary Big Mac sauce in the comfort of your own kitchen. Mike Haracz, head chef at the fast-food giant until 2019, is sharing his trade secrets on TikTok, including the formula for this famous condiment.

In one of his standout clips, he says, “This is Chef Mike, former head chef at McDonald’s, and I’m going to share with you my recipe for making Big Mac sauce at home.”

To start, Mike mixes a cup of mayonnaise with a quarter cup of sweet pickle and two tablespoons of Dusseldorf mustard in a mixing bowl, then stirs in a teaspoon of white wine vinegar. He then adds a quarter teaspoon of paprika and continues with a teaspoon each of onion powder and granulated garlic, followed by an eighth teaspoon of white pepper.

He emphasizes how easy the task is, confirming: “All you have to do is mix everything together. As you can see, there is no ketchup in this recipe. The color of the Big Mac sauce comes only from the paprika powder. Let it sit for half an hour before tasting it. That’s as close as you’ll get to the result.”
