McCullough travels abroad for the U20 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship

FARMVILLE, Virginia – Over the years, famous alumni of the Longwood women’s lacrosse team have carried the Lancer name to various national competitions.

Add Isabella McCulough to the list.

The current Lancer goalkeeper will participate with the Mexican team in the upcoming U20 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship in Hong Kong later this week.

The games begin on August 15 in Hong Kong. 20 teams are represented in four groups. The group matches run from August 15 to 20, the knockout rounds begin on August 21.

“I am so excited and happy to be leading my team at the U20 Women’s World Championship!” said McCullough. “Mexico Lacrosse is aiming for gold this year and being able to be a part of that process and be a part of it is a true blessing.”

As part of the trip, McCullough has agreed to send occasional journal entries about the trip so far. All entries will be posted on www.longwoodlancers.com.

McCullough, who was named team captain for Mexico, has played for Mexico’s senior women’s national team and U20 national team in recent years. She competed in the 2022 Women’s Lacrosse World Championship, where the senior team finished 15th.th.
