Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler of Little People postpone their dream wedding in Hawaii “indefinitely” after a family health crisis

Little People, Big World stars Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler will not be getting married anytime soon as their wedding has been “postponed indefinitely,” a source said.

Matt proposed to Caryn in April 2023 after six years together and the couple reportedly planned an intimate ceremony.

Caryn, 53, showed off her ring in an exclusive interview with People, which appeared to be a single diamond on a double ring surrounded by several small stones.

The US Sun previously reported that they wanted to make the relationship official in May of this year, but months later they are still no closer to a date for the big day.

A source told the US Sun: “Caryn and Matt’s wedding was originally due to take place in May, but it has currently been postponed and there is no date planned other than ‘possibly at the end of the year’.”

“They have talked about getting married in Hawaii now, but they are still evaluating some ideas and it is still in the very early planning stages.

“They decided to postpone it because Matt’s mother needs a lot of extra care at the moment and is getting older.

“Plus, pumpkin season is just around the corner and they just haven’t had enough time to prepare for a wedding this year.”

Matt was always very close to his parents and lost his father Ronald in 2022 at the age of 84. He announced on social media that he suddenly became ill and passed away within just six weeks.

The LPBW patriarch now wants to spend more time with his elderly mother Peggy, who lived in California before his father’s death.

“Disagreement regarding the wedding”

In May, Matt shared a photo with her on Instagram and wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day to my mom Huny (Peggy). Some of you may know she recently moved back to Oregon to be closer to the farm and family. We love having her so close to everyone and most of the grandkids.”

During the LPBW season 25 finale, Matt and Caryn talked about their future wedding and it turned out that they often disagreed about how they wanted to style their day.

Little People’s Matt Roloff reveals he’s “fine-tuning” his $4 million Oregon home and gives a rare glimpse inside his new mansion.

Caryn mentioned that she would like a small, intimate wedding, and Matt replied, “Maybe,” suggesting that he would prefer to have more family and friends at the wedding.

Matt, 62, then suggested that they fly to their wedding by helicopter and hold it at Roloff Farms, saying that they could wave to all their friends and family when they arrived.

This is where Matt’s ex-wife Amy tied the knot with her partner Chris Marek in 2021.

Caryn quickly dismissed the idea, saying that she doesn’t like helicopters because they make her sick.

She added that because of his and Amy’s past, she does not want to get married on the farm, but instead wants to establish new traditions.

Despite their differences of opinion, the couple still seems interested in getting married, and Matt also mentioned that he lifted weights to help carry Caryn over the threshold.

Speaking to People, Matt said: “After six wonderful years together, I proposed to Caryn and she said yes!

“Our plan is to enjoy our engagement and we look forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024.”

Caryn’s son Connor previously spoke about the proposal, saying Matt wanted to give his mother an engagement ring.

“He told her she obviously didn’t know about the engagement ring and while he was getting the ring, he made the decision to marry her,” he said.

“It doesn’t really exist, I guess,” Zach said. “You finish filming, you just give yourself some space, and then the show airs six months later and it kind of reopens old wounds.”

“The dust has settled, but nothing’s resolved or anything,” Zach continued. “Something comes out on social media and you realize that people are thinking the same thing, and that’s kind of a shame because then you’re like, ‘Oh, I thought we were evening out a little bit.'”

“It’s narcissism, so no, it’s not great,” he added. “But I don’t know, maybe it will heal with time.”
