MIAM – Miami FC travels to Albuquerque to face New Mexico United in the first game of September and the third time the two USL Championship teams have met.

Miami FC travels to New Mexico to face New Mexico United following their home win over Monterey Bay FC.

The last time the two teams met, New Mexico won 1-0 in Miami. However, the last time Miami played at Isotopes Park, the South Florida team won 3-0.

Miami will be hoping that their leading scorer Frank Lopez can score on Friday and lead them to victory. Lopez scored his seventh goal of the season in the last game and now has 50 goals in the USL Championship regular season.

Miami’s strong performance last Saturday also secured captain Nicolas Cardona a place in the USL Championship Matchday 26 Team of the Week.

Miami will look to build on its last home performance and pick up another three points in New Mexico before returning home the following week to face Hartford Athletic. Tickets for that game are available at miamifc.com/tickets.

New Mexico United

New Mexico United is currently at the top of the Western Conference table. They have 48 points with 15 wins, three draws and seven losses.

New Mexico is looking forward to its home-court advantage after last week’s loss in Oakland.

The Albuquerque team will rely on Greg Hurst and Mukwelle Akale, who have scored the most goals and assists respectively this season, to secure another home win. Hurst has nine goals so far in 2024, while Akale has three goals and four assists.

New Mexico will work to get the three points at home against Miami.
