Massive water pipe burst affects supply in Green Tree

A massive water pipe burst is affecting supplies in Green Tree.

Our team saw water pouring out of the road in the area of Glencoe and Western Avenues.

According to Allegheny County’s emergency number, emergency crews have been on site since 2:01 a.m.

Pennsylvania American Water has sent an “urgent” notice to its customers saying crews are making emergency repairs.

Residents in the area may experience discolored or cloudy water, low water pressure, or no water at all.

Repairs are expected to take about 10 hours, Pennsylvania American Water said.

When the water supply is restored, the water may be discolored. If your water is discolored, run the cold water faucets only on the lowest level of the house for about three to five minutes until the water runs clear.
