Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa team up with Josh Gad to scare Ashley Park during their live interview: ‘He told us you would like this’

Ashley Park was seriously scared on Tuesday Live with Kelly and Mark through the hands of Josh Gad.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos welcomed the Emily in Paris Star, who in the first part of her interview with the two co-hosts talked about growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and attending the University of Michigan, where her son is currently studying.

As they chatted, viewers at home saw Gad sneak up behind Park, who was completely unaware of his ambush. Then Gad screamed, causing Park to let out a scream and jump out of her chair.

“Josh!” she shouted as Gad scurried off the stage.

Park then dropped to her knees and laid her head in Ripa’s lap as both co-hosts consoled her with giggles.

Consuelos admitted: “He told us you would like it.”

Park hinted that she was “awake now,” noting that this jump scare was not their first encounter; they had “just filmed a movie together.”

“He played my husband,” she said.

Ripa asked if such scenes happen every day, which Park confirmed.

“Every day. Morning, noon and night,” she replied.

While Ripa told Park that she “really jumped out of her chair,” Park joked that “he’s the snowman we all love,” referring to his portrayal of Frozen‘s Olaf.

Ripa joked: “It makes my kidneys hurt.”

Fortunately, Park clarified that she “loves” Josh and admitted that she is “very easily scared.”

“We both obviously come from the Broadway world and people love doing this with me,” she explained.

Ripa and Consuelos then looked into the camera and expressed their support for Park: “You’re never doing that to Ashley again,” they noted.

Live with Kelly and Mark is broadcast on weekdays. You can find your local program on the website.
