Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene spread a preposterous conspiracy theory Thursday that someone high up caused Hurricane Helene.

While many Republicans, like Donald Trump, reacted quickly criticize In the federal response to Hurricane Helene, Greene has begun pointing fingers at who might be behind the weather event that most normal people would understand was caused by hot and cold air.

“Yes, they can control the weather,” Greene said wrote in a post on X. “It’s ridiculous when someone lies and says it can’t be done.”

Many Internet users were disturbed that Greene used the word “they” vaguely, because outlandish accusations about climate control are typical Anti-Semitic conspiracy theories– which Greene belongs to not a stranger.

Earlier in the evening, Greene posted a photo to further push conspiracy theories about the area affected by the deadly Category 4 storm.

“This is a map of the areas affected by the hurricane with an overlaid electoral map by political party showing how the devastation from the hurricane could impact the election,” she said wrote.

It appears that Greene believes that Democrats somehow created the storm to harm Republican voters. This is a significant and grotesque escalation of Trump’s already wild theory that the Biden administration intentionally neglected Republican areas in its federal response to the storm.
