Depending on how you feel about CM Punk and Drew McIntyre, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan is involved in either the hottest storyline in WWE or the second hottest storyline in WWE. Fans can’t stop booing her and Dirty Dominik Mysterio mercilessly after their Judgment Day affair fell apart, and now she seems destined for a spectacular PPV singles title match with Rhea Ripley in the near future. Whenever it happens, it will be a well-deserved high point for Morgan, who is currently doing the best character work of her career. But despite all the deserved recognition, there is still one thing many fans would like to see changed, especially after this weekend.

If you watched the mixed tag match at Bash In Berlin (I gave it 5/5 on my predictions, no big deal) that pitted Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan against Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, you probably noticed an absolutely sick move she pulled on Mamí that nearly won the match. She wrapped her legs around Rhea’s arm, then flipped over her back and landed in a pin position. The move received loud and near-unanimous applause both in the arena and on social media, and is still the talk of the town a day later. You can watch it below…

The above tweet has over twenty thousand likes, and similar versions have been posted on other major social media accounts, generating many thousands of additional likes as well. If you look at the comments on the posts, you’ll find plenty of enthusiastic reactions, but beyond that, there’s also a very high number calling for Morgan to immediately switch her finisher from The Oblivion to this new magic. This is no surprise, as many fans, while respecting Morgan in the ring, have always been lukewarm about her finisher, and this one is objectively much better. You can check out a tiny fraction of the comments below…

  • Stop playing Oblivion immediately.

  • I hope she makes this her new finisher because it puts Oblivion to shame.

  • Oblivion can kick rocks.

  • Must be their new finisher.

This is just a small sampling of some of the replies with 50+ likes. There are literally hundreds more from randomly selected accounts all expressing the same opinion. Even those defending Oblivion agree that this is probably the coolest move Morgan has ever done, and having something like this in her arsenal would really help her feel more like a main player. Hyperathletics like this are a good way to make up for her lack of natural size.

The move itself hasn’t been used often, but the most well-known version is probably that of Saki Akai, who called it Quetzalcoatl. She has used it in various Japanese associations over the years, but I don’t think that should stop Morgan, as every wrestling move has been done by other people before, or will be done once other people see it. Rather than trying to show originality in every move, the goal should always be to find a move set that feels original overall and fits the character you want to portray.

Morgan hasn’t commented on whether we’ll see this move again or what she’ll call it, but given the tremendous reaction from fans, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her pull it out again in the near future. Here’s hoping it becomes her new finisher and helps her reach even greater heights as she continues to climb the rankings and cement her place as one of WWE’s top performers.

You can see Morgan, as well as Dom Mysterio, Judgment Day, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, as their feud continues each week on Monday Night Raw. The hit show will run in the US for the next few months before moving to Netflix for a spectacular debut in early 2025.
