MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Memphis police have arrested and charged a man accused of smashing the windows of a vehicle and stealing the owner’s personal belongings.

On August 6, officers responded to a burglary alarm at Huey’s on Winchester Road.

When officers arrived, they found that a male victim’s pickup truck had been broken into and the vehicle’s windows were smashed.

According to MPD, the man was missing three bank cards, his gun license and a money clip.

According to the affidavit, officers were able to take surveillance footage and observe a suspect breaking the truck’s windows and getting into the vehicle.

MPD was able to locate the vehicle the suspect drove away in. It was parked at the suspect’s private residence on Lyman Avenue.

Mathias is charged with theft of property, burglary of a car, evading arrest, and possession of a handgun as a convicted felon.
