Manchester United push for £30m sale of McTominay to fund PSG star's transfer

Scott McTominay plays a significant role in Manchester United’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte. The sale of the 27-year-old could fund the pursuit of the Uruguayan before the summer transfer window closes.

Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic provided the latest informationand noted that Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna had travelled to England for personal talks about McTominay and that progress was being made on the deal.

Over and beyond, Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Napoli Are to examine the conditions of a possible deal with Sofyan Amrabat being just one of their options in midfield. They are also considering McTominay, with Manchester United still waiting for a €30 million package.

Mail Sport Napoli are reportedly interested in signing McTominay, but only if they can loan him out with an obligation to buy. However, Manchester United would prefer to sell McTominay for £30 million this summer to fund a transfer of Ugarte.

A decision is expected soon on how the Serie A club will strengthen its midfield. Even if Manchester United does not sell McTominay, The Telegraph reported this week that PSG is optimistic that their offer to defer payments could persuade the Premier League club to complete the Ugarte transfer.
