Man wanted after allegedly attempting to kidnap child in Bucks County – NBC10 Philadelphia
Authorities say a search is ongoing for the person wanted in connection with a possible attempted child abduction in Bucks County.
The boy’s parents told NBC10 they are trying to get answers after their son reported that someone tried to kidnap him while he was riding his bike.
Neighbors say they are nervous and some will not let their children play outside alone until the suspect is caught.
“It’s scary. It’s really just very scary,” said Warrington resident Rosemary Hillman.
Investigators said the incident was reported around 3:15 p.m. on Friday, August 9, and involved a man wearing a mask and gloves.
The boy’s parents said their son told them he had stopped his bicycle to adjust a tennis ball in its spokes when a car stopped just feet away from him.
He told them that the man quickly approached him and grabbed his arm, but he was able to break free.
Warrington Township Police are asking all residents near Continental Drive and Liberty Lane to check their security cameras for an older model white pickup truck.
The truck appears to have rust on the rear tires and damage to the bumper on the passenger side, police said. It may have been a Chevy.
“I didn’t expect anything to happen here. But you never know,” said neighbor Scott Hull, who was at home when officers searched his street and knocked on doors for information.
No one was injured and the child returned home to his parents immediately after the incident, officials said.
