The person killed in a traffic accident involving a garbage truck in Canyon Country last week has been identified.
Alberto Hernandez, 21, of Santa Clarita was identified as the person killed in a crash last week between a Burrtec garbage truck and a Honda sedan.
At around 7:59 a.m. Friday, emergency responders received reports of a traffic accident in the 17900 block of Soledad Canyon Road near Galeton Avenue in Canyon Country, according to Kaitlyn Aldana, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD).
“It was a traffic accident in which patients may have been trapped,” Aldana said at the time.

Witnesses on site reported that a car with at least two passengers was partially trapped under a garbage truck.
One person was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital. That person’s condition was unknown Monday.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash was not known until Monday morning.
