MIAMI — A man was struck and killed by a U.S. Postal Service truck in southwest Miami early Friday morning.
Shortly after 4:35 a.m., Miami police were called to the intersection of Southwest 27th Avenue and 26th Street in the Silver Bluff Estates neighborhood because a man had been struck by a USPS truck.
Miami Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and pronounced the man dead, police told CBS News Miami. Police also said the USPS driver was still at the scene.
A USPS spokesperson told CBS News Miami that the agency offered its condolences to the man’s family while Miami police investigated the circumstances that led to the crash.
“The U.S. Postal Service and its employees are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of our South Florida community,” the spokesman said.
