Man crashes semi-trailer into gentlemen’s club in Tampa after being thrown out – 1 dead and 2 injured: police

A truck driver is in custody with serious injuries after he drove his vehicle into a Tampa gentlemen’s club after being thrown out, leaving one person dead and others injured, according to authorities.

According to Tampa Police, officers responded to Emperors Gentleman Club at 5718 E. Adamo Drive around 4:19 a.m. Tuesday morning after a truck collided with the front of the building.

According to police, one person was killed and two others were injured in the accident. Witnesses told police the driver had just been thrown out of the club and returned to drive the truck into a group of people standing at the entrance.

One man was killed in the incident and two other men were injured but are expected to survive their injuries.

“This is an incredibly tragic and completely preventable incident,” said Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw. “We will work to ensure justice is served for the victims and their families. Our thoughts are with all those affected, including the innocent bystanders who witnessed this horrific ordeal.”

The driver was arrested and charges will be filed against him, police said. His condition in hospital is critical but stable.
