A Stewartstown man was arrested Monday and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly hitting his girlfriend with his pickup truck.

Daniel Robert Shaub, 42, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for an incident that allegedly occurred in July.

According to court documents, the woman told police she and Shaub had a verbal argument at his home in the 5400 block of Peach Blossom Lane in Hopewell Township on July 28 or 29. Shaub allegedly dragged her outside and chased her across the front yard, then hit her with his Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

The woman told police she did not report the incident because she was afraid, police said. She also told investigators she did not have access to a cellphone because Shaub allegedly broke it.

A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for October 2.
