MONROE, Louisiana (KNOE) – Si Robertson, the popular reality TV star from “Duck Dynasty,” recently renovated his home in a patriotic style and caught the attention of his neighbors. The roofing team at Northeast Louisiana Roofing undertook a bold renovation and transformed Robertson’s roof into an American flag – a fitting tribute to the Army veteran.
The project was the first step in NELA Roofing’s initiative to modernize veterans’ homes throughout the region. Jeremy Antley, a representative for the company, explained that this initiative stems from the company’s desire to honor those who have served.
“It all started with us trying to set up a veterans program through Owens Corning,” Antley explained. “But we ended up partnering with Owens Corning and kind of developing our own veterans program.”
This program extends beyond Uncle Si’s House. NELA Roofing also offers its services to other veterans in the area, especially those in need of financial assistance.
“If you are a low-income veteran and need a roof, we have financing options and we can definitely get you a red, white and blue roof,” Antley said.
